The name of this water mill refers to the original 'Volmolen' from the 17th century.

In a 'volmolen', wool was processed to improve its quality. Today, a 19th-century grain mill stands at this spot along Bosbeek stream. The inner millwork has been preserved. On the outside, a new wooden 'lock' work was added. The remnants of the wheel have been reassembled and supplemented with new elements in the same material, allowing it to turn again. However, the mill itself is no longer millable. Glass is an important material in this restored monument. A vanished piece of wall at the back of the mill has been replaced by glass, and a large glass volume has been added, housing a dance hall. At high water levels, water can even drain under the extension into the lower stream and the meadows at the back. The specific and valuable environment of Forest Brook has been integrated into this restoration in such a way that the entire site has come out strengthened. This project, together with the restoration of other mills, helps to upgrade the string of water mills in 'the Bosbeek Vallei'.
