The year 2023 is dedicated to poetry, and City of Maaseik set up the special poetry project 'Dichter bij water' this year.

The project is now visible everywhere! You can find poems on some shop windows in the centre of Maaseik, beautifully done with handlettering, an art in itself. Large window stickers appeared on the stairwells of the car parks in Maaseik and a magnificent, 11.5 m² graffiti by artist TUZQ surprised visitors in the centre of Opoeteren!
Bicycle loops
Along three beautiful cycle loops in Maaseik, Neeroeteren and Opoeteren, you will discover poetry in the most idyllic spots by the water.
