Saint Catharina’s is Maaseik’s main church.
It has a smart neoclassical exterior, with softer baroque features inside. The 76-metre tower with its striking grey-green spire is a landmark that can be seen from far and wide.
The confessionals and the altar are certainly worth seeing. At the front, on the left, you’ll see Aelman’s reproduction of the Lamb of God.
The Treasury of Saint Catherine’s Church holds unique and outstanding religious objects dating back to the Middle Ages.
