Knapkoekfeest: an afternoon of folklore, tradition and conviviality

During the "knapkoekfeest", a giant knapkoek is baked in a mobile wood-fired oven, under the supervision of our master baker. The cake has a diameter of about three metres and is baked under the watchful eye of the Master Bakers of Maaseik. After baking, the cake is smashed into small pieces and distributed to the public by the folklore group the Knapkoekers. This day you can visit the regional products and crafts market and enjoy live music. From 1.30PM, shops will be open in the centre of Maaseik.
