This summer, you can hit the water on a whim at Herenlaakplas in Maaseik with Dobber: a smart SUP and kayak kiosk that makes water sports accessible to everyone. No lines, no staff, no hassle. Just scan, hop in, and enjoy.
Discover Maaseik from the water
The Herenlaakplas is one of Maaseik’s most distinctive waterways. Here, nature, relaxation, and recreation come together. With a SUP board or kayak, you can experience this area from a whole new perspective: paddling peacefully at your own pace, with views of the expansive lake and the green banks of the Meuse Valley.
Dobber invites you to slow down for a moment and truly experience what Maaseik is all about: water, space, and freedom.
What is Dobber?
Dobber is a self-service rental platform for water sports. Using a smart locker, you can easily pick up a SUP board or kayak exactly when you want. Just like bike or scooter sharing, Dobber focuses on access rather than ownership: flexible, accessible, and local.
Available in Maaseik:
- 10 SUP boards
- 2 two-person kayaks
Perfect for a quick break, an active outing with friends, or a peaceful solo trip.
How does it work?
Dobber is designed to make things as easy as possible for you:
- Scan the QR code on the locker on-site or reserve online
- Receive your access code and practical information via email
- Open the locker and take out your SUP or kayak, paddle, and dry bag
- You can safely leave your personal belongings in the locker
- After your trip, put everything neatly back
You’ll be on the water in under a minute.
Simple, spontaneous, and flexible.
