Together with the RivierPark Maasvallei, Stad Maaseik opened a cosy meeting place for sports, relaxation and enjoyment at the Heerenlaakplas.

In addition, the woodland planting was expanded by as many as 200 new shrubs, including:
Alnus glutinosa, Carpinus betulus, Cornus sanguinea and Corylus avellana.
