The purple loop in Heppeneert is recommended for the whole family. Bring your four-legged friend along for a pleasant walk through this lovely landscape.

This 3.4 km walking route is varied and leads you mostly on unpaved roads.

Part of the loop is behind the famous little wall that protects the village centre during high tides. Here, the walk coincides with the Pilgrim Trail. You step into the floodplain, which immediately calms you down. In the meadows you pass further along the walk, cows and horses come to make curious acquaintances.

You discover what exciting encounters used to take place at the Devil's Bridge and read the miraculous story about the St.Jacob's stick.

Right opposite the church, a new footpath takes you between the meadows to the Meuse. Definitely worth adding this path as an extra to your walk. The view over the Meuse is different every time, the power of nature makes itself strongly felt here.

Afterwards, visit the picturesque little church, burn a candle in the gallery and then it's probably time for a tasty pancake in one of the taverns. The stress is completely gone, the head pleasantly quiet.
