In the northern part of Hoge Kempen National Park, the yellow route treats you to sweeping views. On a clear day, you can even see as far as Germany.

The route takes you past deciduous forests, a sand hill and tranquil waters created after gravel extraction. These pools form a rich habitat for countless water birds.

At the Waterplas, you will pass the birdwatching hut, a suitable resting place for ornithologists and those seeking tranquillity. Galloway cattle and royal horses also graze and sunbathe in the open landscape. You will also cross the cultural landscape “De Houw” and walk past the historic Dorpermolen mill on the Bosbeek.

Please note: this route has been modified. If you have a map from before 2025, the route on the ground will no longer correspond to the map.
